Alysa Bainbridge was crowned Miss Philadelphia 2019 on March 23rd at the Venice Island Performing Arts Theater in Manayunk. As Miss Philadelphia, Alysa received more than $130K in prizes, including a full scholarship to Cabrini University.

Bainbridge is a sophomore at Saint Joseph’s University, majoring in Communications with a minor in Journalism. Her career goal is to be a television news anchor and host. For her talent, Bainbridge performed a lyrical dance. Bainbridge’s platform is extremely personal to her. In January 2018, she lost her 24-year-old brother to an opioid addiction. She has since made it her mission to end the stigma surrounding mental illness with her social media movement, #MoreThanBipolar. In addition to her social media movement, Alysa has spoken on national stages at mental health events, been featured in Bipolar Magazine, and won several awards, including being named a Mental Health Hero by Attitudes in Reverse, a mental health organization for which she serves on the Advisory Board.
